A Thank You That Deserves to Become an Annual Tradition

At The SuperKids Trust (SKT), we spend a lot of time celebrating the incredible moments that happen when our SuperKids get the chance to experience the excitement of a supercar. But behind every unforgettable drive is a group of equally incredible people who make those moments possible.

On 18 July, we had the opportunity to turn the spotlight towards some of those people and say a heartfelt thank you to the drivers who have supported us throughout the years.

And honestly? This should become an annual tradition!

More Than Just Supercars

Let's be honest. Supercars are pretty special. The sound of the engines, the incredible engineering and the feeling of being around these amazing machines are enough to get any enthusiast excited.

But at SKT, the cars are only part of the story.

What really matters is the community that comes together around them. Our drivers give more than just access to their prized vehicles. They give their time, their energy and their willingness to be part of something that genuinely matters.

Through our SuperKids & SuperCars experiences, we create opportunities for SuperKids to enjoy something extraordinary. For a little while, the focus shifts to the excitement of the engines, the smiles, the laughter and the memories being made.

Those moments don't happen on their own. They happen because people choose to get involved.

And that's worth celebrating.

Saying Thank You to the People Behind the Wheel

On 18 July, we were able to give our drivers a small token of appreciation for the support they have shown The SuperKids Trust over the years.

It may have been a simple gesture, but the sentiment behind it was anything but small.

When people consistently give their time and support to a cause, it's easy to get caught up in organising the next event, welcoming the next family or planning the next unforgettable experience. Sometimes, we need to pause, look around and acknowledge the people who help make it all possible.

Our drivers are an important part of the SKT family. Their generosity helps us create experiences that remind our SuperKids and their families that there is always room for excitement, laughter, connection and hope.

We may not always be able to put our gratitude into words, but we hope this was a small way of showing just how much their contribution means to us.

A Big Thank You to Tyler Loomes and the Joburg Tightline Crew

A special thank you goes to Tyler Loomes and the Joburg Tightline crew for hosting us.

Having people who are willing to open their doors, bring communities together and support a meaningful cause makes a real difference. We appreciate the hospitality and the opportunity to spend time with people who share our commitment to creating something positive.

Events like this also remind us that meaningful partnerships don't always have to begin with a big plan or a formal agreement. Sometimes, they begin with a shared interest, a few conversations and a group of people who decide they want to make a difference together.

That is the kind of community we value at The SuperKids Trust.

Different People, One Shared Purpose

The supercar world brings together people from all walks of life. Everyone has their own story, their own reasons for loving cars and their own experiences behind the wheel.

At SKT, we get to see what happens when that shared passion becomes something bigger.

Our drivers, supporters, partners and volunteers come together with a common goal: to create unforgettable experiences for SuperKids and their families.

The cars might be the common ground, but it is the willingness to help that builds the connection.

And when that connection translates into a SuperKid experiencing the thrill of a supercar, a parent seeing their child's smile or a family creating a memory they can hold onto for years, the impact reaches far beyond the event itself.

That's what makes this community so special.

Why We Want This to Become an Annual Tradition

We believe gratitude deserves more than a quick message or a passing mention. The people who consistently support a cause should have opportunities to reconnect, celebrate what they have helped achieve and be reminded that they are part of something meaningful.

Making this an annual tradition would give us the chance to do exactly that.

It would be an opportunity to strengthen friendships, welcome new supporters, celebrate the contribution of our drivers and keep building the community that makes our work possible.

Most importantly, it would remind everyone involved that the impact of their support matters.

At The SuperKids Trust, we often say that we create experiences money can't buy and moments that outlive the illness. But we know that those experiences are made possible by people who are prepared to give something just as valuable: their time.

Money can be earned again. Time cannot.

Every hour spent supporting an event, every act of generosity and every person who chooses to get involved helps us create something our SuperKids and their families can carry with them long after the engines have gone quiet.

If this gathering is the beginning of an annual tradition, we cannot wait to see how it grows.

Be Part of the SKT Family

You don't have to own a supercar to make a difference, and you don't have to be an experienced driver to support our mission.

Whether you're a supercar owner, a business looking for a meaningful corporate social investment (CSI) partnership, a community group or someone who simply believes in creating extraordinary experiences for SuperKids, there is a place for you at The SuperKids Trust.

From supporting our SuperKids & SuperCars events to helping us connect with new partners and supporters, every contribution can help us create meaningful experiences for SuperKids and their families.

We are proud to work alongside our drivers, supporters and partner organisations across South Africa, and we look forward to building even more connections in the years ahead.

To Tyler Loomes, the Joburg Tightline crew and every driver who has supported us along the way: thank you. Your generosity means more than you know.

Here's to the people behind the wheels, the friendships we've built and the memories still to come.

And here's to making this an annual thing!
