JOHANNESBURG 2018

Past Event | Johannesburg, 24 June 2018

On 24 June 2018, The SuperKids Trust brought together a powerful blend of courage, community, and supercar energy in Johannesburg for a day that went far beyond the roar of engines. This event wasn’t about cars — it was about creating a space where children facing life-limiting illness could step out of their reality, even if just for a few hours, and feel something completely different: freedom.

As the engines started and the convoy rolled out, so did the smiles. For many of the SuperKids, this was their first time experiencing the raw thrill of a supercar — the acceleration, the sound, the momentary escape from hospital routines and treatment schedules. In those moments, they weren’t patients. They were kids again, laughing, shouting, and fully alive.

But the impact didn’t stop with the children. Families arrived carrying emotional weight — exhaustion, uncertainty, and fear. They left lighter. Connected. Reminded of joy. Supported by a community that understands that sometimes, the most powerful form of healing isn’t medical — it’s emotional.

This Johannesburg event stands as a reminder of what The SuperKids Trust is all about: creating experiences money can’t buy, and moments that stay with families long after the engines go quiet.
