JOHANNESBURG 2019

Past Event | Johannesburg, 4 November 2019

Just days after the previous gathering, on 4 November 2019, The SuperKids Trust returned to Johannesburg to do what it does best — create moments that cut through the noise of illness and remind children and their families what it feels like to truly live. This event carried a unique intensity. There was familiarity in the format, but every child, every family, every ride brought something completely new.

As the supercars ignited and lined up, anticipation turned into pure, unfiltered excitement. For the SuperKids, the experience was immediate and overwhelming in the best way possible — the sound, the speed, the sensation of being in something extraordinary.

In those moments, diagnosis didn’t matter. Hospital routines faded. What remained was presence — laughter, adrenaline, connection. A rare and powerful shift from survival to feeling alive.

For families, the transformation was just as profound. The emotional weight they carry daily doesn’t disappear, but it becomes lighter. Watching their children smile, engage, and simply enjoy a moment without fear or limitation is something words can’t fully capture.

The Johannesburg event on 4 November 2019 reinforced something at the core of The SuperKids Trust: these experiences are not fleeting. They stay with families. They become reference points in difficult journeys — reminders that joy still exists, that connection still matters, and that even in the hardest circumstances, there are moments worth holding onto.
